HELP in the news! A new article from author Sandy Bauers for the Philadelphia Inquirer in July highlights the phenomenon of delirium in hospitalized older adults. The article includes a Q&A with Drs. Lee Fleisher and Rebecca Trotta, wherein they describe the basics of delirium and what doctors are doing to prevent and treat this acute confusion. In particular, they mention our own Hospital Elder Life Program as a multicomponent set of interventions proven to reduce cognitive and functional decline. Great to hear about the work that the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is doing to prevent delirium and provide excellent care to hospitalized older adults. Read more below!
